The Black Sunflower is a novel by Hugh Parsons, woven from a lifetime of craftsmanship, travel, unusual encounters, history, folklore and imagination.

Moving between the real and the imagined, it brings together highwaymen, hermits, artists, makers and outsiders in an exploration of creativity, identity and what it means to live a meaningful life.

At its heart is the black sunflower — an unlikely symbol of curiosity, transformation and the possibility of finding beauty in unexpected places.
